Velcro Sticks
Let's Begin
Gather Materials
Craft sticks-colored if possible
Velcro stick-backed dots
Zip-top bag or small storage case
Steps
1. If you don’t have colored craft sticks, have your child
paint the sticks.
2. On one end of your craft stick, place the soft velcro
side. On the opposite end, place the rough part of the
velcro dot. Continue this until all sticks have a rough
side on one end and a smooth side on the other end.
3. Then it is time to create! Allow her to use her
imagination to build with the velcro sticks.
4. When you are finished, you can store your velcro
sticks in a zip-top bag or a small pencil case.

- Looks at the right picture or thing when it’s named
18-months-old
- Explores alone but with parent close by
- Can follow 1-step verbal commands without any gestures
- Drinks from a cup
2-years-old
- Shows more and more independence
- Knows names of familiar people and body parts
- Might use one hand more than the other
